Ramadan: X influencer comes under fire for asking Elon Musk to temporarily ban p0rn on (X)Twitter

An X influencer @Waspapping_ has been receiving backlash from netizens over his opinion regarding the suspension of explicit content on the microblogging platform X.

The influencer had tweeted that the CTO of the platform, Elon Musk should suspend the sharing of adult content for the main time till the Muslims conclude their fast.

The influencer requested that Elon Musk honor his request in respect of Muslims who use the app during the period of their fast.

His tweet read.

“Elon Musk should consider temporarily banning porn on Twitter, even if it’s just for a month, out of respect for the Muslims who use his platform during the holy month of Ramadan.”

The Ramadan fasting which started on the 11th of March is a period in time, whereby Muslims are obliged to abstain from any form of sin.

The majority who came across the tweet however didn’t agree with his request. While some advised that he took a break from the app pending the time he is done with the fast, others revealed that his Twitter algorithm is giving him what he often searches for.

Below are some of the comments,

@hannahmuktar:  You should log out instead, the world doesn’t revolve around your religion

@omalichawa_:  Stay off his app ever since I started using twitter I have never come across p#rn the twitter algorithm is giving u what u always look for

@lewaherbs:  Christian has been fasting since Jan 7th sir.. We didn’t ask anybody to ban anything.

@cheifmali:  How about Muslims quit twitter to observe Ramadan properly or is there a mosque on twitter?
