Chelsea vs Manchester United 4-3: Premier League – as it happened

Manchester United appeared to have reignited their Champions League chase, but two goals in injury time turned the game for Chelsea.

Cole Palmer was the hero for the Blues with a hat-trick to stun the Red Devils.

The Blues had taken a two-goal lead themselves only to fall behind to an Alejandro Garnacho brace and a Bruno Fernandes header.

Conor Gallacher had opened the score for the Blues in the fourth minute, but the story was all about the stoppage-time winner from the former United fan, Palmer.

We hope you enjoyed the coverage and can join us again soon.

For now though, from me Kevin Hand, it’s goodbye.

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag gave his reaction to the defeat at Chelsea.

“We started poorly, giving the ball away, defending poorly, but you saw in that moment we dominated the game,” he told TNT Sports.

“We deserved to win this game, but you cannot give it away like we did.

“It’s a team performance and you can point to one of your players, as a team in such moments when it gets chaotic, you have to deal with it, and we didn’t.

“Out of possession, we made bad decisions.

“It was slightly lucky – the penalty was questionable, it was very soft.

“It’s definitely a setback, but we have to deal with this and catch up. We are resilient and we can play outstanding football at times, but it is about results and we must respond.

Cole Palmer’s second and third goals, Chelsea’s third and fourth were separated by only 82 seconds.

They could be a very costly few moments for Manchester United’s season.

Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino gave his reaction to his side’s comeback.

“It’s difficult to breathe. The last five minutes was an incredible game. That is, the Premier League that is amazing,” he told TNT Sports.

“We started well but the way we conceded the two goals gave Manchester United the possibility to win the game.

“We gave the fans the performance to connect with them. We made some mistakes, but we needed the belief.

“We have a very young squad, but they need to understand we are at Chelsea and we cannot compete in the way we did against Burnley.

“We always need to try to do more.”

Former Manchester United manager Rio Ferdinand reacts to Manchester United defeat.

“Erik ten Hag has a big job to lift them now for the next game [Liverpool]. They’ll be on the floor now,” Ferdinand told TNT Sports.

“They showed fight and character in this match, but in the last three games, they’ve conceded goals post 90 minutes. That’s an issue with concentration.

“I’ve been there and every head in that dressing room will be on the floor.”

Cole Palmer came into the game with some incredible stats for a side that entered the game in the bottom half of the Premier League table.

It’s now 16 goals for the 21-year-old – and a hat-trick against the club he supported as a boy.

Cole Palmer’s third goal, in the 111th minute of the match, was the latest a winner has been scored in Premier League history.

Hat-trick hero Cole Palmer gives his reaction to Chelsea’s win

“2-0 up again, but silly mistakes cost us. But when the eight minutes were put up, it gave us a lift,” Palmer told TNT Sports.

“To score in the last minute was crazy. I’m buzzing. When I was a lad, I was a United fan.

“I try to take each game as it comes and show the Chelsea fans and everyone else what I can do.”

Stamford Bridge goes wild, but Manchester United are on their knees

The United players and fans are shell-shocked.

Everyone in blue at Stamford Bridge is in dreamland.
