Paris Saint-Germain have offered Kylian Mbappe the club’s captain armband in order to make him stay at the club, according to L’Equipe.
The Parisians are determined to keep Mbappe by renewing his expiring deal and offer him the captain’s armband.
This means that the youngster would captain the likes of Lionel Messi and Neymar Jr. as PSG look to demonstrate the importance of the prolific forward.
The future of the France international has been up in the air all season, with many reports in Europe suggesting that the forward is set to join Spanish football powerhouse, Real Madrid when his contract expires on June 30, 2022.
But L’Equipe reports that the PSG board have raised the possibility of making the player captain in a final attempt to convince him to sign a new contract.
Marquinhos’ position as the club’s captain has been put under spotlight following his poor performance during PSG’s Champions League exit to Real Madrid.
Mbappe, who is from the capital city, would be a great candidate to become the club’s captain.
