FIFA Clears Ademola Lookman To Represent Nigeria

Nigeria’s Super Eagles have received a huge boost ahead of their World Cup double-header play-off against Ghana, after FIFA approved Ademola Loookman’s request to switch nationality to Nigeria.

Lookman, 24, an academy product of Charlton and Everton, recently switched his allegiance from England to Nigeria after meeting with NFF chiefs.

Born in England to Nigerian parents, Ademola Lookman has represented England at the under-age group playing a total of 31 games for their U-17,19, and U-21, but felt it was time to represent his fatherland Nigeria.

The Leipzig attacker currently on loan at Leicester City, would have been part of the Nigeria team to the just concluded Africa Cup of Nations, but was denied by FIFA as they had not approved his application.

Now, the world governing body has approved his application and he can now wear the green and white jersey of Nigeria.

Super Eagles will first battle Ghana in Cape Coast Stadium on Wednesday, 23rd March, or Thursday, 24th before playing host to the Black Stars at the MKO Abiola National Stadium, Abuja on Sunday, 27th March.

Ademola Lookman if called by Coach Austin Eguavoen will be on the parade and would definitely be a huge boost for Nigeria.
