Bosso named five players from the Flying Eagles squad that reached the quarter-final of the last U-20 World Cup in Argentina in his 20-man squad for the men’s football event.

The players are captain Daniel Bameyi, Sulaiman Idris, Kehinde Ibrahim, Daniel Daga and Nathaniel Nwosu.

The squad which comprises three goalkeepers, six defenders, five midfielders and six forwards will depart from Abuja on Tuesday (today) for the event which begins on Thursday.

Other players listed in the squad are Charles Agada, Olalekan Ibrahim, Musa Abdullahi, Godwin Sampson, Favour Izuogu, Nasir Muhammed and Sunday Joseph.

Auwal Ibrahim, Yinka Oladunjoye, Sadiq Isiyaka, Clinton Ezekiel, Samuel James, Rabiu Abdullahi and Oladapo Akintola and Haruna Aliyu completes the list.

Nigeria will face with Uganda, South Sudan, Senegal and Tunisia in Group B of the men’s football event.

Ghana, Congo, Benin Republic and The Gambia are the teams in Group A, with the Accra Sports Stadium as the venue for the matches.

Matches for the men’s football event will take place at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium in Legon.

Nigeria emerged runners-up of the men’s football event of the 12th African Games held in Rabat, Morocco in October 2019, losing to Burkina Faso in the final.

Danjuma on his part, selected goalkeeper Anderline Mgbechi, defender and captain Oluchi Ohaegbulem, midfielder Adoo Yina and forward Chiamaka Okwuchukwu in his final list for the Games.

The players are goalkeeper Faith Omilana, defenders Shukurat Oladipo and Jumoke Alani, midfielders Chioma Olise and Olushola Shobowale and forwards Blessing Okpe and Judith Okah.

Other are listed in the squad are Rachael Unachukwu, Chidinma Ogbuchi, Oluwabunmi Oladeji, Chidera Okenwa, Joy Igbokwe, Chinyere Kalu, Motunrayo Ezekiel, Loveth Edeh and Delight Nwosu.

Nigeria who are defending champions in the women’s event are drawn in Group B alongside Morocco, Senegal and Cameroon, while hosts Ghana will contend with Ethiopia, Tanzania and Uganda in Group A. Matches will take place at the Cape Coast Stadium.
