Trump: I’m ‘not a big fan’ of Zelensky

During their meeting Italian prime minister Georgi Meloni defended Ukraine but Donald Trump said he “wasn’t a fan” of the nation’s president Volodymyr Zelensky.

Ms Meloni is a firm critic of Russia’s Vladimir Putin and has been much stronger then Mr Trump in both blaming Moscow for the invasion and that Ukraine needs to be protected into the future.

There clearly was an invasion and that the invader was Putin and Russia,” she said in the Oval Office

“Together we have been defending the freedom of Ukraine, together we can bring lasting peace”.
