The Disciples left their families, their businesses, their careers, professions, friends, kinsmen and all forms of social life to follow Jesus as He desired, at point they resorted among themselves to ask Jesus a question through the mouth of Peter in Matthew 19:27 “Peter answered him, “We have left everything to follow you! What then shall we get thereof?” And Jesus answered him saying, “And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life.”
Last week as sat down looking, I saw in a vision a man of God, an Apostle by office he went to a man, and he said to him, “Sir I am hungry, I need some money to eat breakfast,” the man replied, “Is it money to just eat breakfast?” He said yes, as looked from the point where I stood in that vision the man went inside brought out his checkbook and wrote upon it “Money to eat breakfast for 18,000 years.” If we calculate it by 4 dollars per average breakfast it runs into millions of dollars, that is the money covers the breakfast of 180 generation yet to come, at that point I remembered what Jesus meant when He said to His disciples that they shall receive a hundred times as much.
There’s no limit to the number hundred times, it’s an endless count, so it could be in millions, billons and trillions of reward having left all to follow Jesus, but on one condition if your motive for following Him is pure and genuine.
There’re many professors who left their career to follow Jesus, many Doctors who left their hospitals to follow Jesus, many Lawyers who left their chambers to follow Jesus, many Philosophers who left their premises to follow Jesus, many successful business men and women who left the offices to follow Jesus, many civil and public servant both in the civilian and military parastatals who left all to follow Jesus, if you look at their lives they are much better off now than then because there’s a promise.
To anyone who has left anything to follow Jesus may Heavens remember your sacrifices and commitments to Kingdom advancement, it’s written you shall receive in return a hundred times as much, even if not in your life time but your generations yet to come in the future shall reap of it because God is too faithful to lie.
