Nigeria vs Ghana: Ighalo makes honest admission ahead of World Cup playoff in Abuja

Super Eagles striker, Odion Ighalo has told Nigerians to expect a tough clash when Nigeria hosts Ghana in the second leg of the World Cup qualifying playoff in Abuja on Tuesday.

The first leg of the match ended 0-0 in Kumasi, with Nigeria now hoping to beat the Black Stars on Tuesday evening.

Ighalo, who returned to the Super Eagles set up after retirement, reminded his teammates that they must qualify for the World Cup.

“We know we are condemned to win at home and if we want to go to the World Cup, we have to win,” the former Manchester United striker told reporters at the Moshood Abiola stadium on Sunday.

“We know it is going to be a difficult game, it’s going to be a tough one, but the boys are ready to go.

“We just call on the fans to come out in numbers to cheer us on Tuesday, we are looking forward to them, because they are our 12th man.

“Without them, it’s going to be impossible, so we want them to come out in numbers, support us and cheer us to victory. By God’s grace, we are going to win the game,” he stated.
