French striker Bafetimbi Gomis retires from football

French striker Bafetimbi Gomis, who also played for Galatasaray for a while, announced that he has ended his active football career.

The 39-year-old Gomis, who most recently played for Japan’s Kawasaki Frontale team, announced his retirement from football in a statement to the French press.
He started his career in 2004 with Saint-Etienne, where he grew up in the youth system, and later played for Troyes, Olympique Lyon, Swansea City, Olympique Marseille, Galatasaray, Al-Hilal and Kawasaki Frontale.
The French footballer, who won the Super League championship twice with the yellow-red jersey, was also the top scorer once.
Gomis, who played 12 times for the French National Team, scored 3 times.
Gomis scored 353 goals in 785 appearances during his career.
Galatasaray’s Nigerian star footballer Victor Osimhen paid tribute to Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, the founder and first President of the Republic of Turkey.
