Falz Demands Retraction from Very Dark Man Over Defamation Allegations
Falz (Folarin Falana), a prominent Nigerian rapper and son of human rights lawyer Femi Falana, has demanded a retraction and apology from activist Martins Vincent Otse, known as Very Dark Man. This follows claims made by Very Dark Man, based on an audio recording, alleging that Falz and his father sought a presidential pardon for controversial socialite Bobrisky.
Falz refuted the claims, clarifying that Bobrisky had reached out to him requesting financial assistance of ₦3 million to secure a VIP prison section, which he declined. The allegations, according to Falz, misrepresent him as someone compromising justice and tarnishing his reputation as a human rights advocate. Through his legal counsel, he has asked Very Dark Man to issue a public apology across all platforms where the defamatory claims were shared.
In response, Very Dark Man questioned why Falz targeted him instead of addressing Bobrisky directly and indicated his willingness to resolve the matter in court. He also mentioned a conversation with Falz prior to the legal notice but maintained that his intent was to expose the alleged actions, not to defame.
