Court okays DSS’ detention of Mamu for 60 more days

 
Justice Nkeonye Maha, in a ruling on Tuesday, said the 69 days was to enable the DSS conclude its investigation of Mamu in relation to some alleged criminal conduct.

The ruling was on ex-parte motion argued by DSS’ lawyer, Ahmed Magaji.

The DSS are, by the ruling, ordered to report back to the court on the state of its investigation at the expiration of the 60 days.
 
Mamu had been leading the negotiation with the terrorists, who abducted the Abuja-Kaduna train passengers in March.

Mamu was arrested on September 6, in Cairo, capital of Egypt with some of his family members.

Mamu, who was on his way to Saudi Arabia for lesser Hajj, was detained at Cairo International Airport before being repatriated to Nigeria.
