César Vallejo, forced to get a positive result against Always Ready in the Sudamericana

César Vallejo visits Always Ready this Thursday (7:00 p.m.) in the more than 4,100 meters of altitude of El Alto, for the third date of Group A of the CONMEBOL Sudamericana. Paolo Guerrero will be absent again.

The Trujillo team is last in its group with no points scored and needs to at least get a draw as a visitor so that the gap does not become greater against the leader of its group, which reaches four points after defeating Medellín and drawing against Defensa y Justicia.

For this match, Guillermo Salas will still be without Paolo Guerrero, who has already been knocked out of the match against ADT due to a muscle strain and will prevent him from being in Bolivia.

The challenge for César Vallejo will be huge considering that Always Ready won all three of their international matches in 2024, including a 6-1 thrashing of Sporting Cristal.

A hypothetical defeat for the Trujillo team would be catastrophic considering that it would be seven points behind the Bolivian club and seven or six points behind Defensa y Justicia or DIM, respectively, in case there is a winner in the other match of the group, which will be played in Medellín.

It should be noted that César Vallejo lost 1-0 to Defensa y Justicia in Trujillo in a match that he could easily have won or drawn due to the several chances he failed to convert, and subsequently suffered a 4-2 defeat against DIM in Colombia.
