Barcelona have reportedly agreed personal terms with Dani Olmo and have submitted a new bid to RB Leipzig as they eye a summer move.
Following Olmo’s brilliant performances at Euro 2024 as Spain cruised to the title, it has been reported that Barcelona are interested in signing the midfielder. The Catalan side had kept Olmo’s signing as the second priority as they looked to sign Athletic Club’s Nico Williams first. However, with the winger reportedly looking to stay with the Basque club for another year, Barcelona have shifted their focus back to Olmo.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Barcelona and Olmo have already agreed to personal terms on a six-year contract until the summer of 2030. Romano also stated that Olmo is only interested in a move to Barcelona, but the Catalan side are yet to find an agreement with Leipzig over a transfer fee. They have submitted a new bid that they hope will be accepted.
As per the report by Romano, Barcelona have also submitted a new bid to the Bundesliga side worth €55 million (£46.3m/$59.3m) along with €7 million (£5.9m/$7.5m) in add-ons.
The Spanish international has not been introduced to Leipzig’s pre-season team dynamics as a move seems imminent this summer but remains to be seen whether the Bundesliga side accepts Barcelona’s new offer.
