Ebele Iyiegbu, wife of billionaire businessman Obi Cubana, has addressed the recent next-of-kin controversy that stirred public interest and online debates.
The issue began after Obi Cubana’s adopted son, Chidi, claimed in a TikTok video that he was named the next of kin. In response, Obi Cubana shared a photo of his biological son, Alex, on Instagram, firmly declaring him his rightful next of kin.
Weighing in on the matter, Ebele—popularly known as Lush Eby—took to Instagram to share her perspective, criticising how social media often fuels misinformation and unwarranted assumptions about private lives.
She condemned the tendency of online users to spread false narratives and judge wives and mothers based on “misguided thoughts and evil ideas,” adding that most of the commentators know nothing about the real dynamics of the families they discuss.
Despite the online drama, Ebele remained unbothered, stating that her focus is still on celebrating her husband’s 50th birthday, which featured a grand #50for50 celebration.
She wrote: “Only on social media do you encounter people sharing your life story as if they know you personally.
Only here will you learn about your own history from strangers who’ve never even met you. And only on social media will you see people blaming wives and mothers because of their own misguided thoughts and evil ideas. because that’s who they are. Hmmm.
