Trump Lashes Out Over Kamala Harris’ Surprising Poll Lead

Former President Donald Trump has expressed his displeasure over Vice President Kamala Harris’ recent surge in the polls ahead of the 2024 presidential election.

Speaking on a primetime Fox News appearance, Trump lamented that “somehow a woman is doing better” than him in the race. He claimed Harris’ success “can’t last” because she is “weak on people coming in” as the former border czar.

This is not the first time Trump has made controversial comments about a potential female president. During the 2020 campaign, he said he wants to see a woman president, but not Harris, whom he dismissed as “not competent.” Trump even suggested his daughter Ivanka could be a viable first female president, though he quickly dismissed the idea.

In contrast, Harris has taken a more optimistic approach, cautioning supporters not to focus too much on polls. She emphasized this will be a “tight race until the very end” and that they are the “underdogs” who need to work hard.

“This is a people-powered campaign. This is a campaign about building community, building coalition, reminding us all that we are all in this together and that we’re gonna be good and alright,” Harris told a Wisconsin rally.

The stark differences in tone and strategy highlight the high-stakes battle unfolding between the Republican Trump and Democrat Harris as they vie for the White House in 2024. With Harris gaining momentum, Trump appears increasingly unsettled by the prospect of losing to a woman candidate.

As the election cycle heats up, voters will be closely watching to see how this dynamic plays out on the national stage. The outcome could have major implications not just for the presidency, but for the future of women’s representation in the highest levels of US government.
