In a recent announcement, Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago of Niger state has awarded a N200,000 bonus to each member of the Batch B Stream one National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) assigned to the state. This financial gesture aims to enhance the comfort of the corps members during their service period in Niger.
During the 2024 NYSC Orientation Course inauguration for Batch B, Stream One at the NYSC Temporary Camp in Paiko, Governor Bago also provided additional support including 20 cows and a trailer load of rice to the NYSC members. This announcement was publicized through the state government’s X handle, @NigerStateNG.
Governor Bago further promised automatic employment to NYSC members specializing in the medical field after their service year. He revealed plans for significant state investment, committing N5 billion towards the construction of a new, permanent NYSC Orientation Camp to offer better facilities for future corps members. In the meantime, his administration will enhance the current temporary camp with additional toilets and the installation of five boreholes.
Abdullberqy Usman Ebbo, the Special Adviser on Digital Communications to Governor Bago, also shared a video on his X handle, @Nupenchi_, celebrating the distribution of the N200,000 bonus to the corps members in Niger state.
