Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua agree date for undisputed heavyweight clash

Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua may clash in Saudi Arabia on August 14 should Fury be happy with the terms and conditions that comes with the contract.

The Gypsy King had recently cast doubt over the fight taking place when his promoter Frank Warren revealed he was unhappy with the terms of the deal.

But, it appears negotiations are continuing and Warren is now confident an agreement will be reached.

He told talkSPORT: “It definitely won’t be on August 7 because that’s when the Olympic games are on and that’s gonna be a problem for TV.

“Besides that, you’ve got a UFC PPV in the States and UK so if it goes on, it’ll be on August 14.

“I don’t think the date is the problem at all, I think everyone’s agreed that can be moved to August 14.”

Fury and Joshua agreed financial terms for a two-fight deal last summer but subsequent negotiations have dragged on for several months since they began earlier this year.

Initial contracts were signed in March but without a venue or date being agreed. Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn then secured a £150m deal from Saudi Arabia.
