“Regretful Reflections: 60-Year-Old Woman Shares Disillusionment After Years of Devotion to MFM”

A 60-year-old Nigerian woman expressed profound regret over her lifelong dedication to the ‘God of MFM,’ revealing her disillusionment in a heartfelt conversation shared by Facebook user Maureen Badejo. The woman disclosed that her unwavering faith was misplaced, based on what she now recognizes as deceit rather than divine guidance.

She confided in Maureen about her life choices, including remaining single and celibate, influenced by the church’s teachings. She had never married, had children, or been intimate with a man, dedicating her professional earnings to significant church contributions.

The realization of the deception came too late, as she learned that the supposed divine interventions were actually rooted in practices connected to Babalawo, a figure she was led to believe provided spiritual support and foundation. Overwhelmed by this revelation, she lamented the similar plight of many other women in the church globally, deceived by the same teachings.

Adding to her plight, Maureen recounted how the woman’s pastor had once thwarted a potential romantic relationship with her university lover, citing his non-Christian beliefs. Her desire for IVF was also discouraged by the church, advising her to wait for a divine sign, despite the pastor undergoing the same procedure.

This story, as Maureen describes, is not just personal but reflects a deeper issue within the community, leaving many questioning their faith and life choices.
