Nigerian Woman Breaks Record as First Black Woman to Earn PhD in Computer Science & Engineering at US University

Frances Osamor, a remarkable Nigerian scholar, has made history by becoming the first black woman to earn a Doctorate in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of the District of Columbia in Washington, United States.

Frances’ groundbreaking achievement marks a significant milestone as she becomes the first-ever black woman to successfully complete a PhD in this field at the university.

Her journey to this historic accomplishment began at the University of the District of Columbia, where she first earned a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science. She then continued her studies at the same institution, obtaining a master’s degree in Computer Science.
