Sonia Ekweremadu, the 25-year-old daughter of former Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu has reacted to the sentencing of her parents by the United Kingdom, UK court for organ-harvesting.
Recall that the UK court on Friday, sentenced Ekweremadu to nine years and eight months imprisonment while his wife, Beatrice bagged four years and six months imprisonment while Dr Obinna Obeta was sentenced to 10 years, over a plot to harvest a kidney of an underaged Nigerian to restore the health of their daughter.
Speaking on the matter, Sonia who spoke with BBC on Friday shortly after the court judgement, said things may never be the same with her family again.
While holding back her tears, Sonia opined that she felt guilty over the whole situation, stating that her parents are jailed because of her ill health.
She said, “I don’t think it will ever be the same again. And obviously, I feel guilty because I feel like all these have happened because of me.
“Life is just some dynamic. Like you’re one day in your house chilling and the next day your whole life is turned around”.
