International Friendly: Nigeria’s Super Eagles to battle Mexico in July 3

The Super Eagles will face Mexico in an international friendly at the Los Angeles Coliseum, United States of America on July 3.

The international friendly, which is scheduled a month after Nigeria face Cameroon on June 4 at the Wiener Neustadt stadium in Vienna, Austria will be used to prepare for the Qatar 2022 World Cup qualifiers which will kick-off in September.

Gernot Rohr’s men are drawn against Cape Verde, Central African Republic and Liberia in the penultimate round of the qualifying race for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Meanwhile, Rohr has drawn up a provisional squad list of 31 players for Nigeria’s prestige international friendly game against five-time African champions Cameroon.

Nigeria have qualified for six of the last seven FIFA World Cup finals and have faced Mexico five times throughout history.

The ‘Super Eagles’ have drawn four games and lost once; the last time they faced each other was in Atlanta, Georgia in 2014 and the game ended in a stalemate 0-0 draw.
