Governor Nyesom Wike has given President Muhammadu Buhari 48 hours to name those responsible for Justice Mary Odili’s house invasion.
The Rivers State government and leaders have given the Federal Government a 48-hour deadline to unmask those responsible for the invasion of the Abuja residence of former Governor Peter Odili and his wife, Supreme Court Justice Many Odili.
Governor Nyesom Wike, speaking at a gathering of Rivers leaders of thought in Abuja on Sunday, argued that simply denying involvement by the Federal Government and its officials, particularly the Attorney General of the Federation, was insufficient.
He claimed that the FG should not have taken 24 hours to tell Nigerians what had happened because the names of the police officer, the alleged whistleblower, the Chief Magistrate, and other key players in the tragic episode were already in the public domain.
Wike, who described the incident as an attempt on the lives of the ex-Governor, his wife, and other members of his family, warned that if anything bad happened to any of the family members, his State and its people would hold the Federal Government responsible.
Members of the National Assembly from Rivers, Assembly members, and Local Government Chairmen were among those in attendance.
