The Commonwealth and African record holder in the women’s long jump event, Ese Brume, was in her flying best at the Grand Prix holding in Gaborone, the Botswana Capital.
The Botswana Golden Grand Prix is the year’s second World Athletics Continental Tour Gold meeting which commenced on Saturday, April 29.
Brume who was second-best almost throughout, had to wait for her sixth and final attempt to displace Burkina Faso’s Koala Marthe.
At 6.77m, Ese “Vroome” Brume set a new World lead time ahead of India’s Shaili Singh 6.76m jump at the AFI Indian Grand Prix 4 Athletics held earlier this month.
Marthe jumped: 6.24m| 6.69m |6.46m|6.51m|6.68m|x to take Silver.

6.65m|6.61m|6.41m|x|x| 6.77m (+0.6m/s) to take Gold.
Germany’s Luzulo Marilyse finished third with a 6.61m jump.
